So, I interrupt the Italy posts for some light(ish) post bank holiday reading, about where I am right now after my last “life” post that seems bloody ages ago (read it here). In that post I was talking about the upheaval of life as I know it, when Theo were to eventually move to the US of A… well it happened, the day actually arrived, after all the months of thinking something miraculous would stop it, it just went and happened anyway!!!
So, this is my fave look from Italy AND I didn’t even plan it, just chucked it together and it worked! Don’t you just LOVE it when that happens? (Lots of excitable caps going on right now.)
Why is this my favourite look I hear you ask? Well. I shall tell you for why… Not only does this outfit mark the first outing of these glorious shoesies but it has also brought life back into this very old pair of trousers. I have had these pants around 6 years!!! And there have been many times when I have been on the verge of throwing them out but something has always just stopped me. They quickly became ‘the holiday pant’ as I didn’t really know how to wear them in everyday life and then this happened! 👆🏼 An outfit which I would actually wear on home soil, including the trousers I have not been able to part with for 6 years. Also, seen as though I am loving a yellow accessory right now, the yellow accent breaking up the monochrome just gives me life… yellow is definitely my colour of the season.
So many reasons to love this outfit.
So the 3rd outfit from Italy is leaving me feeling blue, as I’m missing being on holiday so much. Like seriously, my tan has completely faded, I’m cold all the time and I’ve not lost any of my holiday weight as I’m too depressed to diet… if anything I’m even bigger now but I daren’t step on the scales to confirm it! Life is poop but at least I can show you some pretty pictures of an Italian stairway.
Sigh at how beautiful Elba is and how sorry I feel for myself that I have to be home facing reality. Literally feels like the most distant of memories but I’m happy to be reliving it with each post (4 more to go), if only for a brief moment.
So, a slight delay on my 2nd look from Italy, having been away on a hen do for the weekend (seriously patting myself on the back for having the idea to book the Monday off also.) But it’s here and whaddya know, the girl’s got her legs out again! I can’t decide whether these photos make them look tanned or if you can seriously see the mishap that happened on my very first beach day? Yes, this fair bitch burnt herself… Feet and all, which is like the most painful thing!!! Also, why can’t you ever tan perfectly even? What’s that all about? 🙄
So after a 2 week break I am back and so excited to share my first Italy look. Of course by the time this is posted I will have been back over a week, so shooting this look will feel like a very distant memory, I mean it already does to be honest. Why is it that as soon as you get back off holiday it feels like you’ve never been away? Your tan starts fading on the plane, you’re already wondering if your plants have survived and what to get in your next big shop (mainly all green things after a diet of heavy beige) and once you get back to work that’s it… Holiday? What holiday? Am I right?
Anyway, Italy was the most amazing break and although I’m super sad to be home I made so many more amazing memories in a country that already means so much to me. This shoot was taken in Pienza, the most beautiful place in Tuscany… I mean just look at them views, stealing my thunder or what? It is the 2nd time I have been here and it was just as breathtaking as I remembered.
This weekend, I finally got time to try out my rather sassy yellow sunglasses, that I have wanted to purchase for some time… It just so happens that Primark are selling them (also pink and blue ones) for just a measly £1 so of course I bought them… they do not keep the sun at bay one iota (is that how you spell it? It’s just occurred to me that I’ve said it many a time but never actually written the word) but it’s all in the name of fashion.
I call this outfit ‘Hope for the best, prepare for the worst’ as it’s just a combo of hoping for summer (see bottom half) but preparing for winter (see top half) and it just seemed rather fitting. It is extremely hard to dress for the great British summer, you never know quite what to expect, so clearly, I try to dress for all possible outcomes… big thick winter coat with summer shoes, hello!
Quite a different post today, just something I wanted to introduce into my blog as I initially set out to talk about the everyday life of the twenty-something woman and really all I’ve done is talk about clothes… and although that is a BIG part, there’s a lot more to us, right?
So, life as a (late) twenty-something woman. Not really the easiest time, I’ve heard that once you hit 30 you are overcome with this sense of being and empowerment… at 29 I mostly feel anxious and sleepy, so if that’s the case then bring on the big 30!!!
Quelle surprise, after a day off I resorted back to my safe colour in a head to toe black outfit… If in doubt wear black I say, the easiest way to look chic and being in Paris, I didn’t want to take any risks!
So, this is the 2nd outfit from my 3 Paris looks and once again it’s all about the sleeve. This will be my 4th ‘statement sleeves’ post and I’ve got to say, they’re only getting bigger… (Check out my other posts here, here and here.)
