There was a girl in my class once who had this kind of weird lip twitch that she did when she talked… I found it insanely cool and immediately tried to copy it but couldn’t make the habit stick (which I’m now actually glad of), in total honesty I think I only managed one lesson and then I completely forgot to remember (is forgetting to remember a thing?) to do it. You’re probably wondering what the hell I’m going on about but there is a point to this story… You see, the habits we want to adopt are waaayy harder than the bad habits that so quickly take a hold… AND that is the point of my blog post today! TAH DA!!! 🤗
You may remember (me from such…) my post from a few weeks ago where I spoke about Spring/Summer trends that I am championing this year (check it out here if you haven’t already), in this I mentioned the colour pink (hello new pretty bow shoes) and statement sleeves. I have to say statement sleeves have been a real favourite of mine as you probably gathered from some of my previous posts (see here and here). So far it has mainly been the bell sleeve but that all changed when I clapped eyes on this little beaut of a jumper… enter the balloon sleeve, welcome to the family little one.
I am in love with this jumper, it’s so cool yet effortless and I love it even more as it is a waaayyy cheaper version of this Topshop one at just £8 from (you guessed it) Primark – you literally can’t afford to not get it at that price.
So this week, I’m talking more about denim because let’s face it, there is no hiding from it! It’s back in a huge way this spring/summer and I for one have found a renewed love for all things denim.
I recently purchased these distressed light denim jeans from H&M with the very of the moment frayed stepped hem, I love these jeans and although they are really quite similar to my trusty Levi’s (as my boyfriend pointed out) I still had to have them. They tick all the denim trend boxes, keeping us right at the fashion fore-front and let’s face it they go with everything so they’re more of an investment than anything else (pretty much the line I use for every guilt ridden purchase I make – yes, this neon pink visor will go with absolutely everything*).
Hands up who can’t put their hands up because they are weighed down by gi-normous sleeves… Yes, it’s another big sleeve week here on Whitebread… literally can’t get enough!!!
So, in recent weeks Spring has been teasing us with a sneaky little glimpse of sun here and there, which of course has been sandwiched by copious amounts of rain (thanks Manchester). It’s that transitional time of year when you literally do not know what to wear because the weather can’t make up it’s bloody mind!!! This my friends, is what I call layering season.
So, ‘Cropped Kick Flares’ – the 3 words that I have dreaded since crushing on this denim style only to try them on and realise that they make me look like a bell(end), no but seriously, the actual shape of a bell… well flattering… 🔔
I bought these jeans last summer and even though I absolutely love them, I just haven’t had a clue how to style them, the problem being that although I love the shape of them, unfortunately the shape does not love me. The kick flare really throws my proportions off, making my legs look shorter and thighs bigger which of course is not what you want. However, one Sunday morning I had a light bulb moment…
