Outfit: Stripes and Sunshine

So, this is my fave look from Italy AND I didn’t even plan it, just chucked it together and it worked! Don’t you just LOVE it when that happens? (Lots of excitable caps going on right now.)

Why is this my favourite look I hear you ask? Well. I shall tell you for why… Not only does this outfit markย the first outing of these glorious shoesies but it has also brought life back into this very old pair of trousers. I have had these pants around 6 years!!! And there have been many times when I have been on the verge of throwing them out but something has always just stopped me. They quickly became ‘the holiday pant’ as I didn’t really know how to wear them in everyday life and then this happened! ๐Ÿ‘†๐Ÿผ An outfit which I would actually wear on home soil, including the trousers I have not been able to part with for 6 years. Also, seen as though I am loving a yellow accessory right now, the yellow accent breaking up the monochrome just gives me life… yellow is definitely my colour of the season.

So many reasons to love this outfit.

Outfit: Gingham!

Gingham Trend

Sigh at how beautiful Elba is and how sorry I feel for myself that I have to be home facing reality. Literally feels like the most distant of memories but I’m happy to be reliving it with each post (4 more to go), if only for a brief moment.

So, a slight delay on my 2nd look from Italy, having been away on a hen do for the weekend (seriously patting myself on the back for having the idea to book the Monday off also.) But it’s here and whaddya know, the girl’s got her legs out again! I can’t decide whether these photos make them look tanned or if you can seriously see the mishap that happened on my very first beach day? Yes, this fair bitch burnt herself… Feet and all, which is like the most painful thing!!! Also, why can’t you ever tan perfectly even? What’s that all about? ๐Ÿ™„

Outfit: Shake ya Pom Poms

Holiday Styling.

So after a 2 week break I am back and so excited to share my first Italy look. Of course by the time this is posted I will have been back over a week, so shooting this look will feel like a very distant memory, I mean it already does to be honest. Why is it that as soon as you get back off holiday it feels like you’ve never been away? Your tan starts fading on the plane, you’re already wondering if your plants have survived and what to get in your next big shop (mainly all green things after a diet of heavy beige) and once you get back to work that’s it… Holiday? What holiday? Am I right?

Anyway, Italy was the most amazing break and although I’m super sad to be home I made so many more amazing memories in a country that already means so much to me. This shoot was taken in Pienza, the most beautiful place in Tuscany… I mean just look at them views, stealing my thunder or what? It is the 2nd time I have been here and it was just as breathtaking as I remembered.

Outfit: Sassy Sunnies

This weekend, I finally got time to try out my rather sassy yellow sunglasses, that I have wanted to purchase for some time… It just so happens that Primark are selling them (also pink and blue ones) for just a measly ยฃ1 so of course I bought them… they do not keep the sun at bay one iota (is that how you spell it? It’s just occurred to me that I’ve said it many a time but never actually written the word) but it’s all in the name of fashion.

Outfit: Giving you the Cold Shoulder

Processed with VSCO with c1 presetSo, I got back from gay Paris on Monday and it already feels like a distant memory. Going back to work and being slapped in the face by the great British summer can really be a Buzz Killington. But none the less, my trip was a joy and a great opportunity to take some pics away from Manchester. I know I’ve been a bit lax with my posts of late so I’m really feeling a lot more inspired after a little break in a gloriously beautiful city and hopefully this will get me motivated to start posting on time again… Typical Laura to procrastinate.

Outfit: Balloon Sleeves

Processed with VSCO with c1 preset

You may remember (me from such…) my post from a few weeks ago where I spoke about Spring/Summer trends that I am championing this year (check it out here if you haven’t already), in this I mentioned the colour pink (hello new pretty bow shoes) and statement sleeves. I have to say statement sleeves have been a real favourite of mine as you probably gathered from some of my previous posts (see here and here). So far it has mainly been the bell sleeve but that all changed when I clapped eyes on this little beaut of a jumper… enter the balloon sleeve, welcome to the family little one.

I am in love with this jumper, it’s so cool yet effortless and I love it even more as it is a waaayyy cheaper version of this Topshop one at just ยฃ8 from (you guessed it) Primark – you literally can’t afford to not get it at that price.

Outfit: Hip Hip Hoody

Processed with VSCO with c1 preset

Sometimes in life you just have to have those really chilled clothing days (I’m not going to lie, this is most times for me); days when it’s all about the comfort, and not much else… today was one of those days. I am celebrating the hoody and all things comfy because I am nearly 30 and I find no shame in admitting that I love being comfy, it’s genuinely my most fave thing… if I were a bug, I would most definitely find a rug (deep shag preferably) and get snug.

So lots of casual layering is key because, let’s face it, it has gone absolutely baltic again… seriously, having to get my big coat back out, what’s that all about? But layering is the key to this look, a way of still getting some style points on the most comfiest of days… I call this look ‘Homeless couture’.
