There was a girl in my class once who had this kind of weird lip twitch that she did when she talked… I found it insanely cool and immediately tried to copy it but couldn’t make the habit stick (which I’m now actually glad of), in total honesty I think I only managed one lesson and then I completely forgot to remember (is forgetting to remember a thing?) to do it. You’re probably wondering what the hell I’m going on about but there is a point to this story… You see, the habits we want to adopt are waaayy harder than the bad habits that so quickly take a hold… AND that is the point of my blog post today! TAH DA!!! 🤗
So, we need to talk about Red… it is literally the colour of the moment and it’s sticking around for the foreseeable with it being a HUGE trend for this A/W. I know you have seen it all over the high street and are dying to nail a full red outfit… believe me I am working on it!
So this is the blog post from last week that didn’t get posted as I was away in London, then with everything that happened in Manchester it just didn’t seem right to post it, so I’m posting it now.
So, I have yet to find anything yellow to add to my Spring/Summer wardrobe so I have compensated for this by posing in front of a very yellow door (shutter?)… how bou dah?
You may remember my post from a couple of weeks ago where I talked about the Spring/Summer trends I am championing this year (read it here if not), the midi skirt was one of them and I’ve finally got round to styling this one, even though it has been lurking in my wardrobe for months now.
Sometimes in life you just have to have those really chilled clothing days (I’m not going to lie, this is most times for me); days when it’s all about the comfort, and not much else… today was one of those days. I am celebrating the hoody and all things comfy because I am nearly 30 and I find no shame in admitting that I love being comfy, it’s genuinely my most fave thing… if I were a bug, I would most definitely find a rug (deep shag preferably) and get snug.
So lots of casual layering is key because, let’s face it, it has gone absolutely baltic again… seriously, having to get my big coat back out, what’s that all about? But layering is the key to this look, a way of still getting some style points on the most comfiest of days… I call this look ‘Homeless couture’.
The sun was shining this weekend in Manchester (as in last weekend when these pics were taken – the weather this weekend sucked!), so I put my happy pants on and drank Prosecco… what else is there to do when the sun is shining really?
Who else thinks these pants are super fun? I am so in love with them, even if some people think I look like a pirate (not mentioning any names), but seriously crushing so hard on them! I, along with the rest of the fashion world, have gone completely ruffle mad, it’s a trend that’s really having a “fashion moment” right now and I have fallen for it hook, line and sinker! (Is that a pirate phrase? I don’t actually know… oh the irony!)
So, I’m pretty sure me calling myself a “lazy dresser” is fast becoming a theme to this blog… The laziest dresser in the blogosphere? Rings a bell right? But anyway, I do live for being warm and cosy, which can really pose a problem for someone who is obsessed with style. My way around this, is a great accessory… I am like the BIGGEST fan of accessorising, it’s ALL about the details!!! You’ll probably notice a key accessory is always present in every look I sport… This week, of course, is no exception… Hello space-cowboy boots and fishnet socks!
Today’s post is all about thinking outside the box… Just because we are nearing 30 it doesn’t mean we have to dress accordingly. I still love going full on grunge for the day (90’s ponytail included).
Although I have previously stated that I am somewhat of a lazy dresser, I still love an opportunity to experiment… I am a Fashion Graduate after all! I have always been a massive advocate of fashion being something that one should never take too seriously. I personally find great joy in teaming playful outfits together and not taking myself too seriously when it comes to the world of fashion, after all what better way to truly express yourself?
So here’s me looking like a Mel.C wannabe (see what I did there?) circa 1996. Continue reading “Outfit: Yes Plisse”
So, after too many a month procrastinating, my first blog post is finally live and let me tell you, it was not an easy feat to press the publish button. As people who know me are probably aware, I now have considerably shorter hair than this, just showing how long this post has been sat in my drafts (about 7 months to be exact). There are probably 2 main reasons for the delay, 1 being my natural habitat of procrastination and 2 actually feeling embarrassed to post it… There I said it! There are already so many amazing bloggers out there doing such a great job, I doubted that anyone would be interested in what I had to offer but hey, this is my final year in my 20’s and I will not be afraid anymore, because, if nothing else, I… am a grown up!!! Therefore I can’t be scared, OBVS! Continue reading “Outfit: Back to Basics”
